This is a light hearted competition in which members will be asked to choose on the spot between two images at a time, thus eliminating half of the entries in each round until the best image is voted on from the final pair.
To make the most of this informal competition all members are encourage to enter either 2 or 4 digital image files (jpeg) max size 10 Mb. Entries to the Competition Secretary by email will now be accepted until Friday 23rd December 2016 latest.
A return of our popular image discussion series, this time on the subjects of 'Winter' and/or 'Christmas'. Please bring 3 prints up to 12" x 8" in size to share with others in small groups.

Members intending to enter the Internal Club Competition on the theme 'A Book Title' should submit their prints during this regular club meeting. A maximum of 2 images per member can be entered.
Division 1 printed entries should be mounted in accordance with the guidelines laid out in the Competitions Page of this website. Each image should be accompanied by an associated JPEG image file, maximum file size 10 Mb, for projection on competition night.
Division 2 entries should be submitted as a JPEG image file, maximum file size 10 Mb, for projection on competition night. (No prints are required.)

This is an optional outing for members who might wish to visit Glen Doll together and spend part of the day on location, sharing tips, techniques and generally having a good time together. Meeting and travel arrangements will be notified nearer to the date, both by email to those having registered their interest and also on the Club Facebook Group page.
The evening will consist of 4 presentations on topics of interest to members. This should be an ideal opportunity to hear from more experienced members on specific aspects of photography and to share in the Q&A sessions following each presentation.
Internal club competition night based on the theme of 'A Book Title'. Plenty of scope for creativity in this theme and the variety of interpretations should be interesting. Our judge for the evening will be Al Buntin ARPS, MPAGB and prints and digital image files (jpeg) should be handed in as notified on 25 January 2017 above..
Division 1 entries should be submitted as mounted prints AND as digital image file (jpeg)
Division 2 entries should be submitted as digital image files (jpeg) only.
Our guest speaker for this evening will be Shahbaz Majheed. Shahbaz is a long standing member of Dundee Photographic Society and as well as being an accomplished photographer of note, also acts as Website Manager for the Dundee club. His topic for the evening will be Long Exposure Photography.
Annual General Meeting followed by an Annual Image Review and Presentation of Prizes.
Our 2nd Annual Dinner takes place in the clubhouse at Kirriemuir Golf Club on Saturday 8 April 2017 starting at 7.30 pm. Bookings are now closed and any outstanding payments should be made immediately to Heather Ray.

There is a lovely walk up the den with the stream, small waterfalls and autumn colours to shoot and for the more energetic amongst you Kinpurney Hill offers wonderful views from the top. If you have one, bring a tripod for long exposures and sturdy footwear in case it is muddy.
Alan will put out an email on the Saturday at about 6 pm if the weather forecast is not looking good and the trip needs to be cancelled.

We have a good selection of entries for both Divisions 1 and 2 and Ian will be giving his 'critique' of each entry whilst hoping to encourage us in our photography and help us learn from the competition experience.
