    This is an outing for members wanting to visit Auchmithie Beach and Harbour together and spend part of the day on location, sharing tips, techniques and generally having a good time together. Meeting and travel arrangements have been circulated to all members by email and also as an upcoming event on the Club Facebook Group page.

    The evening will offer members an insight to the possibilities of post processing images using alternatives such as Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop, Apple and hopefully at least one freely available software package.  These will be demonstrated in separate groups which will be repeated on the night allowing members to attend two sessions of their own preference.  Also covered in these sessions will be 'How to Resize Images' for competitions, email, website work etc.

    We plan to go to Aberdeen to photograph the Christmas Lights and Activities in and around Union Terrace.  Meet in Kirriemuir at the Bellies Brae Car Park in good time to leave at 2.00 pm.  We expect to be there for up to 2 hours leaving again about 5 pm to come home.   Why not come along and team up with someone who can help you get the ideal shot ?  Who knows it could become your Christmas Card for 2017 !

    There is a lovely walk up the den with the stream, small waterfalls and autumn colours to shoot and for the more energetic amongst you Kinpurney Hill offers wonderful views from the top.  If you have one, bring a tripod for long exposures and sturdy footwear in case it is muddy.

    Alan will put out an email on the Saturday at about 6 pm if the weather forecast is not looking good and the trip needs to be cancelled.

    A light hearted competition to start the New Year.  By gradual elimination using a simple 'which one do you prefer' approach, any image can make it to the later stages.

    We've had a good response from members and will be starting with 128 images.  These will be whittled down to the last 16 and after the break, the final four rounds will reveal the overall winner !  Good luck everyone . . .

    These two Annual Angus Clubs competitions are long established and are being hosted this year in the Cathedral Hall in Brechin by the Arbroath Camera Club.

    This is the first year we have been invited to participate against the other clubs in Angus.   We will be entering 7 Mounted Prints and 7 Digital Projected Images to represent our best work.   These will be selected from throughout the club by a small group of committee members, some of whom already have experience of this competition.

    This year, as well as the dinner, we will be having our Annual Awards Ceremony to recognise the photographic work and contributions made by members throughout the 2017-2018 season.  We will be presenting four new trophies which will become annual awards in the years ahead.  In addition, the winners will receive an engraved medal to keep as a personal reminder.

    The awards are as follows:

    The Fin McKenzie Trophy              - Highest aggregate points in Division 1 Competitions

    The Clova Cup                                -  Highest aggregate points in Division 2 Competitions

    The Prosen Cup                              - Highest aggregate points in Division 3 Competitions

    The President's Award                   - Awarded at the discretion of the President to a member who has made a       significant contribution to the work of the club in the past year.

    These annual inter-club competitions are held between Brechin, Mearns, Carnoustie Camera Club, Carnoustie Photo Group,  Kirriemuir Photography Club and Arbroath & District Photography Club.

    The venue is the same each year but the event is hosted in turn by each of the clubs invited to participate.  We have entered 7 Mounted Prints and 7 Digital Projected Images to represent some of our best work from the past year.
